GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE

The Grievance Redressal Committee in degree colleges is established to address and resolve issues and complaints raised by students, faculty, and staff regarding various aspects of academic and administrative functioning. This committee provides a structured and transparent mechanism for individuals to voice their concerns and seek redressal for grievances related to academic performance, administrative decisions, or any other issues affecting their well-being. The committee is committed to ensuring fairness, equity, and transparency in addressing grievances and fostering a positive and supportive environment within the college.

To fulfil the prescribed UGC norms, the Grievance Redressal Committeewas constituted in 2021 at Government Degree College, Mandapeta.  Grievance Redressal Committee is to provide a fair, transparent, and effective mechanism for addressing and resolving complaints from students, faculty, and staff, thereby fostering a positive and supportive academic environment.

Mission

Objectives

  2. Protect Confidentiality: To handle all grievances with confidentiality and protect the privacy of all parties involved.
  3. Promote Transparency: To ensure that the grievance redressal process is transparent and accessible to all members of the college community.
  4. Enhance Satisfaction: To address and resolve grievances in a manner that enhances satisfaction and improves the overall functioning of the college.
  5. Implement Improvements: To use feedback from grievances to implement necessary changes and improvements in institutional processes and policies.

Functions

  1. Receiving Complaints: Accepting and recording grievances submitted by students, faculty, and staff regarding academic or administrative matters.
  2. Investigation: Conducting thorough investigations into grievances, gathering relevant information, and interviewing involved parties.
  3. Resolution: Making informed decisions and recommendations to resolve grievances, including corrective actions, policy changes, or other remedies.
  4. Communication: Providing clear and timely communication to the complainants about the status and outcome of their grievances.
  5. Feedback and Improvement: Analyzing trends and patterns in grievances to identify areas for improvement and recommending changes to enhance institutional processes and policies.
  6. Training and Awareness: Organizing workshops and training sessions to educate the college community about the grievance redressal process and their rights and responsibilities.

Grievance Redressal

  1. Submission of Complaints: Individuals can submit grievances in writing or through an online portal, detailing the nature of the issue and any supporting evidence.
  2. Acknowledgment: The committee acknowledges receipt of the grievance and provides a timeline for investigation and resolution.
  3. Investigation: The committee conducts a detailed investigation, including reviewing evidence, interviewing involved parties, and assessing the situation objectively.
  4. Resolution and Action: Based on the investigation, the committee determines appropriate actions to resolve the grievance and communicates the outcome to the complainant.
  5. Follow-Up: The Committee will hold a meeting every first Friday of the month to discuss ongoing initiatives, address any grievances, and plan future activities.
